(Serve 8-10)
Ingredientes:

  • 1 Chávena de chá de farinha
  • 1/2 Chávena de chá de açúcar + para polvilhar
  • 6 Claras de ovo
  • 1 Colher de sopa manteiga (bem generosa)
  • 1 Colher de chá de fermento em pó
  • 1 Colher de chá de essência de baunilha
  • Sumo de 1 limão

Pré-aquecer o forno a 170ºC.

Every day is a good day to eat some cake. But to eat it at a Sunday is even more special.

This day, where many people don’t have to work, it’s a day to eat something more sweet, to be with family or purely to rest.

Since little, Sunday was always a party-day; where my grandma would call all the family, sit them at a table and feed us with her most delicious and fantastic food.

This cake is not one of her’s thousand of recipes, but it is inspired in her and in those happy days.

(Serves 8-10)
Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of flour
  • 1/2 Cup of sugar + to sprinkle
  • 6 Egg whites
  • 1 Tablespoon of butter (big tablespoon)
  • 1 Teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 Lemon juice

Pre-heat the oven (170ºC).
Whisk the egg whites; set aside.

Beat the butter with sugar and add the lemon juice and vanilla essence.

Sift the flour with the baking powder; add and mix well. For last, and with care, mix the egg whites.

Place the dough in a previous greased and sprinkled with flour baking tin. Sprinkle sugar on top of the dough to create that delicious caramelized crust.

Bake it for 30 to 40 minutes.
