Maaike’s GriekseRijstschotel | A receita de Maaike

One of the best things of working in Backyard Tours is to meet with new people every day. And when people share the same interests, that is the cherry on the top of the cake!

That happened with Maaike from The Answer is Food. We were having a nice picnic after a beautiful day together in our Backyard, when she told us she also had a food blog. Needless to say, the first thing that I did when I arrived home was checking and exploring her blog.

The Answer is Food is now on the 2.0 version and it has beautifully and mouth-watering photographs. Maaike is Dutch, and therefore the blog is also written in Dutch; nevertheless, I’m sure if you’re interested in one of her recipes, she will help you with the recipe you’re interested in! 🙂

After some self Dutch lessons and with Maaike’s help, I’ve decided to try one of her many recipes. The first I choose is called GriekseRijstschotel and it means something like “Greek Rice Dish”. It’s very easy to prepare and the final result it’s simply brilliant.

My recipe is slightly different from Maaike’s but is totally inspired in her work. I used different ingredients and they are:

(For 2 People – Para 2 Pessoas)
Basmati rice | arroz basmati
1 Cucumber | pepino
1 Green Pepper | pimento verde
1 Big tomato | tomate grande
Olives | azeitonas
Olive oil | azeite
Feta cheese | quejo feta
Salt, thyme and black pepper | sal, tomilho e pimenta preta

Cook rice enough for 2 people.
Cozinhe arroz suficiente para 2 pessoas.

Cut the cucumber and green pepper in small pieces. Cook them in a pan or wok with a little bit of olive oil. Add the tomato cut in slices and toss the thyme.

Season everything with salt and black pepper.
Tempere tudo com sal e pimenta preta a gosto.

In the meantime, add the olives – you can cut them in slices instead – and the rice. Stir everything until combined and add some feta cheese over the dish.
No entretanto, adicione as azeitonas e o arroz.

Mine photos aren’t that beautiful compared with Maaike’s, the same as the recipe – mine is just different, but also tasty. However, try Maaike’s recipes, explore her blog and see by yourself how remarkably fast you can be amazed with her work 😉

Besides her blog, you also can find her in pinterest, facebook and twitter.

Now, remember…

Oh… Wait…

What was the question after all?

Doesn’t matter, the Answer is always Food! 🙂

Oh… Esperem…

Qual era a questão mesmo?

Não interessa, a resposta é sempre comida! 🙂
